HIGH EFFICIENCY SOLAR CHARGER

SC4875-R2 series are state of the art photovoltaic chargers capable of charging a 48VDC battery through solar panels. They can operate as standalone units as well as being part of a hybrid system featuring solar, wind, genset and mains. These chargers are capable of operating together with DATAKOM-BC/SBC series, which gives the flexibility of combining solar chargers and AC supplied chargers inside the same communication loop. Solar chargers can share the load with AC supplied BC/SBC series chargers. The solar charger has a wide range of DC supply input, 120 to 420VDC. The input current is limited to 20 Amps and the charger will provide full power output above 200VDC. Between 120-200VDC it will give limited output power. The ideal supply voltage range is 220 to 330VDC, providing maximum power and highest efficiency. The internal MPPT helps reaching efficiency together with precision.

The charger provides high power in a small volume. The power density reaches 45.2 Watt/inch3. 4 chargers may be installed inside a single 1U 19” rack shelf. The charger offers “hot plug-in” and “soft start” features. Outputs can be paralleled up to 128 units and the system total output may reach 512kW. The charger is protected against abnormal operating conditions including low/high supply voltage, overload, short circuit and high temperature. In case of overheating, it will automatically reduce its output current and continue normal operation. The cooling is performed with internal fan. Thanks to the high efficiency, the need for fan is minimised. Chargers support modern energy management systems. The output voltage may be controlled by external controller; comprehensive measurement values may be uploaded and sent to a data centre in real time. The charger holds last 200 event records in its non-erasable memory. The event record contains a detailed snapshot of measurements at the time of the event. The unit records also all operating parameters in its memory every 10 minutes. Last 1 year’s records can be read.
